Newport Residential Care Home
Newport Residential Care Ltd is a beautiful Victorian home containing 29 furnished single rooms, colourful garden and patio area, dining room, 2 lounges, reading room, residents’ kitchen, accessible bath and shower rooms.
Each service user undergoes a comprehensive assessment; establishing an individual care & support plan which meets their needs; is agreed between the service user, their family and carers, and appropriate health care professionals, prior to admission. Newport Residential Care’s purpose is to provide:
- Residential care and support for the elderly
- Residential support for mental health residents
- Excellent home cooking. 3 meals per day and dietary requirements catered for
- Regular creative and life skill activities
- Monthly newsletter
- Self-service refreshments
- Kitchen facilities for independent or assisted cooking
- Laundry service
- Call system
- Family days
- GP Visits as necessary
- Allocation of an individual key worker
Day care and support for visitors
NRC is open to day visitors, where meals and refreshments are provided, and activities can be partaken. This is open to friends and family members of our residents, as well as persons who are seeking social interaction and creative outlets; support is available from our team to assist visitors with individual requirements.
NRC work in partnership with local community groups such as Independent Arts and create harmony to provide a wide range of activities and life skills, to engage and assist residents and day visitors develop and progress.
Residents of NRC created a body of art work in partnership with Independent Arts through different forms of art titled ‘Re-connection’ that was exhibited in Newport and is now displayed throughout the home for all to enjoy.
One to one support
Each resident is assigned a key worker who will engage in one to one support and assist where necessary with activities such as shopping, going for lunch, sightseeing, attending social clubs or events, walks, accessing local services, support at medical appointments, and any other situation that the resident feels they need support.
Animals
NRC has for two rabbits and a cat that residents take ownership of. The animals are feed, cleaned, and pampered by the residents.
